JOY SOCIAL presents… a summer session with James Greenwood (Semi-Skimmed) and Laura Jackson.
James Greenwood (Semi-Skimmed)
This London export and one-quarter of the city's powerhouse DJ collective, Supernature Disco, isn't just spinning fire – he's steadily releasing disco bombs. Forget your average record collector; James is a curator of forgotten disco and boogie gems, breathing new life into them with his revered vinyl-only label, Semi-Skimmed Edits. James has just launched the hush-hush sub label 'UHT,' a secret weapon primed to explode in record stores this summer. Buckle up, because we're handing James the keys to the MOT rig for a peak-time sonic adventure you won't forget!
Laura Jackson
Manchester's dancefloors tremble when Laura Jackson steps up. More than just a DJ, she's a sorceress, weaving magic with every track. A favourite across the city, Laura's sharp pinned record-hunting fuels her sets, seamlessly blending house, soul, afrobeat, disco, jazz, and techno into one irresistible journey. Forget genre limitations – Laura reads the room, crafting sets that pulse with emotion, perfectly capturing the moment's energy. From the flamboyant energy of La Discotheque to the underground vibes of Homoelectric, Laura's graced some of Manchester's hottest parties. She's even shared the bill with legends like Horse Meat Disco, Marcellus Pittman, PBR Streetgang, Rahaan and more. There’s one thing for certain, if you’re having a good time, so is Laura.
