Review of Covert weekender: Roger Sanchez pres S:Man, David Zowie + More
Great music! Roger Sanchez amazing as always. Good atmosphere! Shame the turnout was poor and it was just upstairs in Spectrum that was open. Bouncers haven't changed- thr usual knobhead approach to dealing with people. We got the 3rd degree going in about "when did you last visit? Which dj?" As if they might stop us going in (all of us in couples, dressed well, been going years) however, there did seem to be a rough element in there so there 'harsh' door policy obviously isn't working.

SANKEYS SOLD OVER TICKETS
I was always very happy with Sankeys EXCEPT last night when Tribal Sessions runned.
Under my experience Sankeys was one of best pleaces for electronic music in Manchester. It always brings good music, nice enviroment and good organization. It would be really sad if Sankeys does the mistake selling over tickets, leaving so young people go into with excesive prices in the bar. As Faithful followers of Sankeys we felt last night how Sankeys became a place just for teenagers in a sauna with any oxigen for breathing. Nothing to compare with other events where we really enjoied having space for dancing, not taking 30 minutes to use the toilet and THE MOST IMPORTANT, breathing. Sankeys usually shows its events as sold out and I have never seen this before there. Very disappointed
Sankeys fairwell with our Gareth
Garuda was epic. Great way to say goodbye. It was hot, sweaty, messy and I'll miss every second of it :)That's what made Sankeys what it was.
Emery played an amazing set, kept me caught up in the moment throughout!!

Garuda Sankeys
This review relates to this particular night only as I've had plenty of great nights in Sankeys. But this night was my worst experience in 20 years. I've never left a club within 2 hours in all the time I've been clubbing.
30mins in the Skiddle ticket queue and 40 min in the main queue.
It was rammed solid, way too hot, the air con either wasn't on or couldn't cope. It was 10 deep at the bar and eventually when I got served 3 waters & 1 budweiser came to £17 !!!
There was no chance of getting on the floor, or making it to the stairs to Spectrum or to the outside area to cool off as the DJ box had been moved to the far end.
Finally got in at midnight and left at 1.40, it was a complete waste of time and money. I'd travelled from Liverpool but I met a couple of lads from London who felt the same.
Let down by a club that I've had so many good nights in. Spoilt by overhype and greed.
