About

Julian Deane (‘Seriously good gags’ The Guardian), Phil Nichol (”Cripplingly funny‘ Three Weeks), Stephen Catling and MC Bethany Black ( ‘A great comedy mind’ British Comedy Guide) at Didsbury Comedy Club, Manchester! Scroll down for comedians’ details.

The bar temporarily closes at 7.45pm so we can start on time. Please get here before 7.15 so we can get you served and seated in plenty of time. Acts subject to change. Fully seated. 18+ Proper sweary swearing. We want all our guests to have a great night so please respect those around you by turning off your phone and not talking whilst the show is in progress. We can only refund or reallocate if the show is cancelled. Thanks!

Renowned amongst comedians for his inventive, inspired and downright devastating punchlines, Julian Deane regularly performs across the and has even gigged to a sold out Wembley Arena whilst supporting Paul Chowdhry on tour. Julian’s appeared on Sky’s Russell Howard Hour as well as beavering away behind the scenes, turning out his high quality gags Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week and Matt Forde’s Unspun. When not touting his comedic wares up and down the nation’s motorway network, Julian co-hosts the Two Vegan Idiots (TVI) podcast, alongside friend, fellow vegan and comedian, Carl Donnelly.

“Deliciously twisted. a stream of seriously good gags. quick, sharply written and endlessly repeatable lines.” The Guardian

“It’s just a matter of time before Julian Deane gets a boost up the comedy rankings. His trick is to make you think you’re watching standard stand-up fare, then twisting expectations with sharp, original punchlines.”  The Independent

Phil Nichol is something of a legend on the comedy circuit. He has won the ‘main comedy award at the Edinburgh Fringe (after two previous nominations) which is the comedy equivalent of the Nobel Prize. Phil is an energetic and exciting performer with an unquenchable thirst to break boundaries and innovate with his work. His skill as an improviser whether it be musical, comedy or straight is unparalleled. With a surreal edge to some of his mischievous rantings Nichol always brings something new to the stage, his keen sense of fun and eye for the shocking and absurd has cemented his position as one of the best comedians on the circuit today.

“Riotously funny” Sunday Telegraph “Cripplingly funny.” Three Weeks “Unflappable, luminous talent” The List

As well as making people laugh (a lot!), Bethany Black was spotted by Russell T Davis which resulted in her playing ‘Helen’ in Channel 4 series’ Cucumber, Banana and Tofu as well as 474 in Doctor Who! This is all well and good but just how funny is she? Oh, don’t worry about that as the answer is ‘very’. Awards include winning the 2020 Joe Comedy Award and Bethany is British Comedy Guide recommended.

“Laughing at every other word” ★★★★★ LGBT Arts Review    “A great comedy mind” British Comedy Guide

Stephen Catling takes the middle spot. Didsbury Comedy Club is booked, marketed and produced by Comedy In A Van and held at St Catherine’s Community Centre
