The Queer Shakedown is back. This time with the Spookish Shakedown - (because it might be spooky but only ish). Feel free to dress for Halloween if you so desire.
Joining us are Mondo Queero film night, a new venture from Good Afternoon and Matthew Rothery (Kiss Me Again). They are showing 'Nowhere' by Gregg Araki. This will take place in the Green Room from 7pm - 9pm and there will only be room for 30 people. More details about the movie below. (All ticket sales from Mondo Queero will be going to the Carlton Club fundraiser).
Once the film has finished the green room will open to all Shakedown ticket holders where Good Afternoon and Matthew Rothery will be on the decks creating back room vibes for the rest of the evening.
Meanwhile in the main room, the Spookish Shakedown will be in full swing from 9pm with Jimmy Turnbull, Jus'T and Bolli Bubbles.
Mondo Queero will be screening 'Nowhere' (1997) by Gregg Araki. (run time: 82 mins).
Araki's 1997 black comedy is a surreal, nihilistic, technicoloured romp around 90's LA. With a stacked cast of young 90s Hollywood stars, it has been described as 90210 on acid. It is part of Araki's Teen Apocalypse trilogy.
Warnings: there are depictions of drug use and the film also shows the lead up and aftermath of sexual assault.
