Review of Baked A La Ska
I really like the Carlton Club venue but I was underwhelmed by the band. The tempo was downbeat, there were too many ska 'versions' of songs where I would have liked more ska classics. I was hoping for a more upbeat second half but was left wanting. The sound engineering wasn't great. The solos got lost and we could barely make out the vocals. There was a lovely female sax solo early in the gig that just got lost due to poor mixing.
I have seen the band before at a Halloween gig and really enjoyed that night. I got 5 tickets for my friends and me for last night's gig and we all felt pretty much the same about the performance.

Review of Funking Floor Fillers! with Funked It Up
Funked it Up at there absolute best last night. They totally owned the night with a Stella repertoire of favourites. The dance floor was full from the first song and the atmosphere was fantastic. lots of smiles and laughter and pure joy spent dancing the night away to some banging tunes. 10/10 .Roll on the next one in June.
