Review of Home on the Range 20th Birthday Party 29 Nov 2024
I remember when 'home on the range' used to be a good mix of music with lyrics that everyone would know, ALL night.And thankfully the wonderful d.j at the start of the night Friday 29th November played one of favourite Stevie wonder tunes and some great other ones with lyrics that I and a few others had a great dance to! So I thought 'hey it's gone back to how it used to be', brilliant!But about 10 p.m the d.j changed and the music became quite techno, which unfortunately doesn't make me want to dance anymore. And I didn't want to get off my head just to try and enjoy the music, so I had to leave. I know so many people love the tunes that were playing from 10-10.30, but I need a good mix of music with lyrics: Soul, funk, disco, rock& roll that doesn't just sound like the same tune playing for hours. Yes I know there are other nights like these, but that's how I remembered how 'home on the range' used to be? But I still love the venue and staff so much and over the moon the Carlton is still going, but I felt I had to be honest about this. Thanks.

Review of Mondo Queero #2: But I'm A Cheerleader
Really lovely crowd, screening interesting queer films in a lovely setting with friendly organisers who are always up for a chat about the film after! Loved it will be at the next one 😍 xx

Review of Home on the Range:Dia des los Muertos Friday 25 October 2024
HOTR is a guaranteed good night out - fantastic tunes, a great audience, nice vibe. Fabulous to see so many great Halloween costumes at this one.
