Review of The Word Is Terry Christian , The Naughty Nineties and more
Terry takes a page out of Tom Baker's book and leads us back to the nineties when we were full of youthful idiocy and still immortal. Some great tunes and a privileged window into the history of the de facto Pied Piper from Channel 4's seminal show.
I put some fancy words in there to show I'm old and at least as educated as him ;-)

Review of The Motherfunkin Tarantino Show
I'd only seen Funked It Up! a couple of weeks earlier at The Didsbury Beer Festival and was keen to repeat the experience. They were excellent again and very friendly too, chatting to them pre-performance.
The Tarantino theme was great and the accompanying fire dancers and women on stilts (possibly the same artists) were brilliant.
This was my first visit to The Carlton Club but it won't be my last. Really enjoyed the experience and a good selection of hand pulled beer too.
I also liked being able to get a cab to pick me up easily afterwards - not always easy.
Finally, signing up to Skiddle was easy and the ticket purchase was also quick and painless.

Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
Over sold tickets massively. 50% of our party didn't get in because the venue was over capacity. Queued at the bar for 20 minutes without getting served. We left. Crap

Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
Carlton club is a great place to go, however the Fireworks event was a bit messy. The sold more tickets than they should.
They had to turned people down at the front door, even with tickets bought in advance.
You couldn't either get into the party inside once the fireworks ended, due to Health and Safety issues.
I think it was poorly organised! Maybe next time they could sell 2no different tickets? One for the fireworks and other for the party inside afterwards??

Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
Doors opened at 5. I'm glad we didn't go until after 6 but I wish it had been later. Bags were searched on the way in for drinks and sparklers. I assumed they must be selling them in there, but no. The only thing to do inside was to wait in long queues for overpriced drinks and food. I'd heard good things about the HipHopChipShop but the tiny portion of badly cooked chips for £4 was not value for money. It wasn't really their fault. More catering should have been in place when the Carlton Club had sold so many tickets. The mushy peas were very nice. There was nor even a bonfire to stand around. The website had said fireworks at 7 but they eventually started at 7:30. There were lots of them but not set off in a particularly professional way. (Not in a bad H&S way,). It was supposedly open until 1am but since you couldn't get inside until somebody else came out you were limited on what you get up to apart from waiting in long queues.

Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
You stated there would be a childrens display but this changed at the very last minute. My young child was really upset and we wouldn’t have bought tickets if we knew it was a standard display. We left after 5 minutes.
Also they sold too many tickets so we queued for a long time to be told no more room inside, then 5 minutes later ushered into another queue. It was really chaotic and not very well organised. Impossible to get food and drink because of the numbers. Unimpressed!

Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
There were not enough facilities for the amount of people that attended, to include the bar, food stalls and toilets. There was a 50 minute wait in the queue for food, never mind the time it took for the food to be ready. The fireworks display itself was brilliant but the venue did not have enough staff or adequate facilities to house the numbers of people attending.

Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
Firework display was great, good mix of whizz, pops and bangs!
Got there early enough to miss the queues at hip hop chip shop and the bar, but it was a long time to wait with young children til 730 when the display started, would be much better a little earlier
Review of Fireworks Night at The Carlton Club
Got to the venue only to find that they had oversold the tickets so we couldn't get in, very disappointing and annoying. Have started the process to get a full refund.
