Get ready for La Freak Familia Weekender - a proper Manchester Halloween blowout that brings together family fun and nightlife vibes for parents who still want to let loose. We are inviting families along to dance and create to the soundtrack of Demented Disco in the beautiful surroundings of the Refuge MCR.

We listened to your feedback and we are launching two family friendly rave sessions on 26th October, we have split the age groups of our young attendees. To ensure age appropriate activities with plenty space to move around the venue so that children can enjoy activities at their own pace. 

Aimed at parents of little Mancunian party starters 0 - 5 year olds. Activities are aimed at 0-5 year olds, however older siblings are more than welcome. For children aged 5-11 year olds please refer to our Family Rave sessions on the same day, session times 2.30 - 5pm

🎧Demented Disco debut at the Playhouse Project expect a true family affair, determined to recapture some sunshine and sleaze of the 70s New York disco. Their guest DJs over the years have included - Greg Wilson, Victor Simonelli, Danielle Moore, Graeme Park and many more. With a collective of over 20 DJs, Demented continues to bring their brand of Disco and House to venues such as Golden Lion Todmorden, Pikes Ibiza, After Beach - St Tropez and Beatherder festival where they run their own stage. As a collective of over 20 DJs, Artists, Singers and Musicians.

Activity Line up -

ARTventurers Messy Play Sessions (0 - 5 year olds).

👻Award winning ARTventurers will be exploring a range of materials, getting immersed in lots of sensory, messy fun! We will be: Mixing and pouring some magical witches potions; Splatting the creepy spider web foam; Scooping and pouring in the Halloween rice tray; Searching through the spooky Halloween shredded paper; and squishing in the painty pumpkin area.

🎃BLOOM Baby / Toddler Classes ( 0-4 year olds)

International and multi-award winning multi-sensory baby & toddler classes. Sessions are packed full of a range of activities, you can expect music, pom-poms, baby yoga and massage, instruments, parachutes, sensory lights, bubbles, treasure baskets and more! 

👻Spooky arts ( 1 - 5 year olds)

Arts and crafts drop in ran by a experienced early years primary school teacher, with a range of Halloween themed arts and craft

Get your little monsters rave ready with Halloween themed face art (cash preferred).

THE PLAYHOUSE PROJECT is a unique family-friendly rave experience, organised by a crew of seasoned clubbers and DJ's from Manchester who are now parents. Planting positive seeds into the next generation of music lovers in our city.

Terms and Conditions.

Adults without children will not be admitted.

Please remember that you remain 100% responsible for your children at all times.

Please do not leave alcoholic drinks unattended.

Music will be set to the recommended levels for little ears, child-safe club lighting, no strobe lighting used.

Please leave inflatables on the dancefloor for everyone to enjoy, please do not take inflatables out of the venue.

The venue will be spacious and will not sold to full capacity, however we advise parents of young babies to wear a sling particularly on the dance-floor.

This event is aimed at 0-5 year olds (activities are for this age range) however older children are welcome to attend.

Photography / Video - There will be a photographer at the event, some shots will be used for publicity. Please inform a member of staff on arrival if you do not want your little ones to be photographed.

Please no running or rowdy behaviour.
