Review of Peter Hook & The Light: An Evening of Music & Conversation
Huge confusion about how to buy ballot tickets and whether or not weâd been successful in the ballot. Didnât receive any email after draw date saying whether successful or not, despite checking Inbox, Spam, Skiddle account, etc daily. Received reminders from Skiddle prior to event saying bar codes would be issued at 6pm on day of event, then a QR code arrived at 4:30pm on day of event and wording on Skiddle app (eg. âshare with your friends that youâre goingâ, âa map of nearby accommodation for your eventâ) that seemed to indicate we had a ticket. Husband travelled 60 miles to Manchester to be told the bar code wasnât a successful ticket. There were many other people left outside thinking they also had valid tickets, including a couple who had flown over from France specifically for the event then were told their tickets werenât valid and were sent away.
Very disappointing and unnecessarily frustrating, not to mention the wasted time and money involved.
Iâve no issue with buying ballot tickets for the event to support the SHOUT charity, but I do have an issue with the lack of clarity from Skiddle as to whether the bar code it sends is an entry one or not. Also received this link to give a review of attending the Peter Hook event that we were turned away from because we were told we hadnât been successful in the draw.
Good idea Peter Hook to raise money for Shout, poorly executed by Skiddle.
