Review of Under One Roof - Weds 4th Dec
in short,UOR is fully acesible for clubbers, there is a lift at the side of the building. however (this is manchester councils thing not UOR or YES) but the path outside YES is very uneven and some of the drop kerbs are a bit messed up so be aware of this especialy in the dark evenings or late and more so anyone with mobility dificulties (whether walking, using a mobility aid or a wheelchair, power chair etc).
ive only ever been into dance music and theres a problem ive always had with a lot of the 'club nights' often put on for us-theyre not club nights theyre pop and crisps discos which treat us like kids.the drink they allow you to have is usualy some sugar free soft drink, ive seen some of these discos bang in a CD into a CD player and that was the 'DJ'-no choices or respect given to us adults.
UOR changed all that in manchester, it gives us a true club night, with talented DJs,promoters and staff who all have a love for music. if you have learning disability and want to try an acesible version of what all non disabled clubbers go to then go to UOR -its a proper club night with the friendliest crowd , and the 6pm to 9pm timing is perfect for anyone who doesnt have waking night suport staff.
