Had a great couple of days at The Big North Tattoo Convention. Great atmosphere, live shows and of course the artists turning out some awesome art. Bring on 2024.

This is a fantastic event, pretty much every time it's a lovely get-together for all tattoo enthusiasts and alternative folks in general - all beautiful people!

Awesome tattoos, good music, cool shows, fun little activities, stalls with all sorts of interesting merch. The venue is really big, though they should make it so that there would be a little more space between the stalls for visitors to walk through comfortably without bumping into each other.

There are decent food options, but they're always ridiculously expensive and overpriced (nine quid for a "large" portion of popcorn and almost a tenner for a pint of Amstel?! seems worse than London...).

In 2019 they also had loads of fantastic arcade game machines from the 1980s and 1990s that you could play for free, I wish they had brought them back for 2023. Big shame.

Still, overall, it's a brilliant event and a good way to support local as well as international artists.

I’m on medication which is essentially a salt, when at the venue I asked for tap water but was told I could only purchase bottled water. I understand we cannot take food and drink into the venue however I become dehydrated very quickly. I paid for my ticket, I paid for my parking I’m incredibly surprised I should have to pay for tap water when I happened to be purchasing a snack alongside.
The show was poorly laid out, this for me was not worth complaining about but as I’m sending a review probably best you have an awareness. The stands were too close to the stage making it very hard to see anything unless you stand in the way of the stalls.

I didn’t stay for any music so can’t comment on that. The price to enter is a bit steep given that the food prices inside are very high and really you are just paying to browse different tattoo artists in one place. I did have a great time though and would go again.

First time at the event and was mega, spent about 9 hours there. Prices for refreshments are quite expensive tho.
