Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
Amazing family day out... lots more this year than last for the kids! we had a great time... only thing that let it down was soft drink prices. I expect to pay more at festivals but £7 for two fruit shoots and 3.50 for a can of Pepsi max I thought was a bit extortionate.
I'm sure we will be back for a 3rd year! but please look at soft drink prices ð

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
shuttles were a waste of money. Not enough to cope with demand in. I arrived at Newport for11.30 shuttle, i didnt get into the venue untill gone 1pm. I had to pay for a taxi in the end. Not enough to do for little ones my son was bored after 2hours, plus with the long waits for the shuttle, huge queues he was so
fed up.

Park & Ride would be better if there was a second bus. The wait is too long for kids and missed the first hour odd of the event.
No water station and was only told later on in the day that some bars were providing free water - this should be advertised somewhere as it is law to provide water but none of us knew where.
Music was great, but timings never accurate.
Food choices were great! Lots of fun things for the kids to do
Venue was better.
Some kids had wrist bands with emergency numbers on but we werenât given any
A very fun day though! Weâd be back. Just some changes could be made

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
The organisation of travel and accessing the site was shocking.
We followed the information provided by Disco Kids on the email and went with the park & ride option. We went with the most up to date email we had and it directed us to the park live car park to find out that this was not the car parcel to use and there would be no bus shuttle. We later found out it was at the college and seemingly this was an 11th hour change this morning. We were not told. We travelled from Cardiff for this so and my child is 5 - this is not something you âjust decide to doâ on a whim. It involves planning and we were limited by the incorrect information. After over an hour of trying to work out where to park we left our card somewhere in the middle of the industrial estate and a long walk to and from the site. Not only did we not receive the change in park & ride options the website itself was still saying the event was at Tredegar Park - that is how poor in comms this has been.
Music was ok, food and drinks was over expensive for what is was and the staff in high bus were a bit rude to be honest when asking for help and trying to find out what was going on.
Also - this event is targeted at kids, especially little kids. More consideration was needed for shade - one tent was not enough and young kids at least need to be able to have shade. Even with sun cream, little kids and babies do not regulate their own body temperature.
We really looked forward to this but it was very much marred by the poor comms and organisation. I will seriously think twice about spending the best part of £100 on this event.
