Review of Reggae & Riddim Festival 2024
Line up, start times and what to expect was very confusing.
Had a good time.
We had an unfortunate event where someone who was with us had a heart attack but the staff dealt with it very well.

Review of Reggae & Riddim Festival 2024
I had the best time. The layout was lovely and spacious the sound was amazing and the food and beverages were reasonably priced. The security staff were lovely and friendly and the free bus from Newport town worked out for us really well. The line up of music was incredible and I also really enjoyed the dance routine. The only complaint I have is a bog one I am afraid and it is that the Reggae & Riddim festival is only once every two years. Who do I and my family complain too -)

Review of Reggae & Riddim Festival 2024
I felt a "reggae" festival should feature much more reggae music. There were a few moments of good interactions between the on stage DJ and the crowd with a good mix of well known reggae and dancehall tracks, but these moments were short and songs were constantly cut by too much talking by the DJ. There were too many moments where the stage was bare, no info shared with the audience (for example, we are getting ready for the next artiste etc) during this time there could have been ole school sessions with a mix of reggae, dancehall, conscious tunes to keep the crowd on their feet. It felt more like a concert with most of the crowd sitting most of the time rather than dancing and energetic. Also the music/ speaker) mic sound was low which took away from the "festival" vibes.
I commend the cleanliness of the venue, especially the toilet facilities and the hard working crew that went around collecting garbage and maintained a really clean environment.
The presence of the medical staff walking around was also really good and added to the feeling of safety.
It was also good that the event did not have a heavy police presence ( don't know if there were plain clothes officers) but police at a predominantly Black event can be a huge put off. So well done painting safety without the fear. Overall a good effort and I'm sure trial and error it will be better and bigger next year.

A most enjoyable way to spend a weekend. The size of the venue and the crowds were not overwhelming, which added to the relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Already looking forward to next year!
