Review of Northampton Balloon Festival
Absolutely rubbish event needs more stalls and businesses in other than that it just a fun fair with food stalls ripping everyone off with disgusting prices also paying to get in and £5 to park is disgraceful an absolute fortune was made by someone there. It needs to go back to what it was 15-20 years ago when you could spend all day there, we was in and out in just over an hour.

Review of Northampton Balloon Festival
Pricing was absolutely ridiculous for rides and food/drink. We were also disappointed to not get to see any balloons inflated. This is an event that I used to come to a lot as a child, and wanted to bring my son here to have the experiences I did and he was very upset to not see any balloons inflated. I understand this is weather permitting, but they weren't even being inflated until 5ish. When I used to come, the balloons would be up all day for people to look at and this was the most exciting part for me as a child. We felt very let down and came away quite disappointed.

Review of Northampton Balloon Festival
We enjoyed our afternoon at the Northampton Balloon Festival. The rides were so overpriced and not sure how the prices can be justified. Getting into the grounds was very reasonable especially booking online saving that little bit. Entering and exiting was very well organised.
The 'entertainment' we found a slightly odd choice, didn't feel some of it was overly child friendly, especially the American Civil War - re-enactment, it's all very well saying before it starts that it may hurts ears and be loud etc, but what good is that to children?? I understand a wide audience needs to be met and 'make everyone happy'. The Stannage Stunt Team, were incredibly boring, too much talking couldn't hear them very well either, whether that was a technical issue or whether they weren't speaking clearly. They seemed to stick to one end of the arena space so the people on the other end could hear or see anything. (I heard a few people around me making the same complaints)
The Bolddog FMX were brilliant my 3 and 5 year old both really enjoyed watching them do their flips and 'fly' in the air as my two children put it. They kept everyone entertained from start to finish of their act. A brilliant act to have.
Keeping people updated on whether the balloons would be flying or not needs to be improved. The Facebook page wasn't updated enough, we were watching the FMX after being told the balloons are being delayed and would take off later, to turn around and see some in the sky!
We understand if the conditions change and there is an opportunity for the balloons to fly then they need to go but there was no announcement of this. What we went to see (the balloons taking off) we actually ended up missing.
The toilets were good, plenty of them and well stocked with toilet roll and sanitiser.
Plenty of food options, but again very overpriced, but to be expected.
Overall we did have a good afternoon/evening, but there are definitely things that can be improved.

You're paying to enter to just use the rides that cost 5 per ride per child! And we're not worth that with the length of time and lack of safety checks. Loads of people were standing outside the venue watching all the shows etc. Paying £5 to be told where to park when there were so many spaces rather then all be rammed in together.

Was a wonderful day out, however the cost of everything was absolutely extortionate. We spent over £200 because everything was excessively overpriced, especially food and drink!
