About

THE CLAUSE

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 29TH

An Independent Venue Week show

The Clause are a four-piece from Birmingham who bring together the swagger of the 60s, the rolling groove of the 80s and the riotous verve and attitude of the 90s.  Pearce Macca (front man), Niall Fennell (drummer) Jonny Fyffe (bassist) and Liam Deakin (guitarist) effortlessly combine huge hooks with gritty verses, indie sensibilities and rhythm and blues groove and melodies to create an altogether different beast.

The music defies categorisation, rolling seamlessly from crashing percussion to huge, swinging bass. There are epic singalong choruses destined for stadiums and packed festival main stages, and darker, edgier moments evoking late night cruises down dingy back streets. The band have been together since they were kids and they have matured into one of the UK’s most exciting new bands.

The band have hit the road continuously since February 2022 with a series of sold out headline tours as well as main supports slots with James, The Lottery Winners, The Reytons, Pigeon Detectives, DMAs, The Enemy and The Snuts.  They are currently on tour as main support for the sold-out K’s tour.

In 2023 the boys completed tours of towns and cities across the UK, and played on the main stage of the legendary Isle of Wight festival. They also had a packed itinerary of festivals and high profile supports including a summer of prestigious dates with the legendary James. This past summer the festival diary was again very busy with slots at The Great Escape, Live at Leeds and Y Not Festival.

The band have been featured, to date, on Radio 1, 6, X and XS as well as Soccer AM & Clashmusic.com. They were also honoured to play on Radio 1’s Big Weekend. In 2023 they released the highly successful EP ‘Pop Culture’, and followed it up in October 2024 with the ‘Weekend Millionaire’ EP.

Their singles have reached No1 in the iTunes rock chart, they have been playlisted by Spotify on All New Rock, Deezer’s Hot New Rock and YouTube’s Your New Alternative Playlist. The Clause have had extensive support across all media – Soccer AM, BT Sports, This Feeling, Gigslutz, Band of the Day on Maximum Volume Music and Scottish Music Network among many others, plus a cover feature in the Sunday Mail and two-page interview on the Daily Record. They have also recently been awarded the BMA ‘Best Band’ for the second year running, as well as ‘Best Indie and Alternative’ act.
