About

THE CAR PEOPLE TO TAKE THE HASSLE OUT OF MOTORING IN TAMESIDE Car supermarket, The Car People, has teamed up with Greater Manchester Police to help take the hassle out of driving by offering motorists free anti-theft number plate screws on 15th September. Following a successful partnership with the local police last year with its ‘Car Crime Clinics’, motorists in Tameside can again enjoy the benefits of sound advice and free anti-tamper number plate screw fitting on Saturday 15th September 2012, with the St. Michael's Neighbourhood Policing Team and The Car People at ASDA, Hurst Cross in Ashton. The clever anti-tamper screws that they will be fitting for free are designed to help combat the growing local issue of number plate theft - where criminals use stolen plates on different vehicles to commit crimes which is on the increase. The Car People, based on Lord Sheldon Way, Ashton-Under-Lyne, believes that prevention is better than cure, and is focused on taking the hassle out of motoring. The team will also be providing crime prevention advice on the day. Jon Seaman, General Manager at The Car People in Aston says: “We feel very strongly that we need to put a stop to number plate theft and are thrilled to be partnering with Greater Manchester Police again to stamp out this form of crime in the Tameside area. Number plate theft is a very real concern for motorists and we understand the stress, cost and inconvenience associated with this form of theft and want do everything we can to ensure people enjoy hassle-free motoring.” The ‘Car Crime Clinic’ takes place on Saturday 15th September 2012, at ASDA, Hurst Cross in Ashton between 10am and 3pm.
