Off Symmetry presents: Trystero [Knekelhuis], Marlene Ribeiro

Off Symmetry is excited to kick off the new year with two amazing live acts: Trystero (Knekelhuis) and Prangers (Yous Records, Tesla Tapes).

As part of their first UK tour, we are thrilled to welcome Trystero to the Northwest. Their music morphs in many directions, nodding to krautrock, acid, postpunk, electro, psych, industrial and shoegaze.

Trystero are made up of Scottish/Luxembourgish producer Thomas Lea Clarke (aka MR TC), Nelly from “Easy Goat”, and Low Bat, also known for being one half of “Jean-Luc”. They released their debut album "Sfumare e Vedere" last year, in which you can find their shared passion for all things strange and psychedelic. They have a second album on the way.

Live, Trystero bring deeply cosmic, enchanted sets that slip you into new sonic dimensions. Low Bat’s resonating voice and stage presence ignites their exciting sound, singing surreal word play in Italien, French and English about class struggle, love and loss. MR TC’s love for drone-lead electronics takes cues from sizzling acid, 1990s snap rhythms post-punk and kraut, while Nelly’s menacing bass completes the trio’s synergy.

We are made up to have Marlene Ribeiro joining Trystero on the bill. Formerly a long standing member of Manchester noise experimentalists Gnod, artist and musician Marlene Ribeiro works within a dream-like sphere of exotic psychedelia.

Stemming from her original solo project under the moniker of Negra Branca, Ribeiro utilises an eclectic range of acoustic instruments, various field recordings, electronics and voice, to create a phantasmagorical and intoxicating blend of hypnagogic-folk pop.

Off Symmetry DJs Ana K Miller and Chriz will accompany the live acts with cosmic otherworldly selections.
