Miles Hunt as always good value with his songs & anecdotes.

First time seeing Miles Hunt, but have been to this unique venue a number of times, usually to events in association with Todmorden Folk Festival. Its an old church hidden above the town and is an excellent venue. Real ale bar provided by the local brewery and reasonable prices. Sound is usually excellent at the venue and this was no exception. Good setlist of his solo material. Will definitely catch him again and we are back at the venue soon for the Unthanks. Promoters are doing a great job, bringing artists of this calibre to the town. Its also on the mail train route from Leeds and Manchester and less than 5 minutes walk from the station. Only downside is theres no parking on site.

The venue was perfect both for us and for the production; local, gothic church and interpretation . The intimacy of the performance was unexpected , but was a great twist and ( looking back) was the perfect choice. Providing blankets was a little touch that really worked as I didn't think how cold it would be inside the church and it , somehow, made it a bit more special.
The performance was good with outstanding acting from the lead ( Alexis Tuttle), Jasmine Tovey ( various parts) and Edward Darling ( The Guide and also ..although not billed...The Priest).
I didnt think it would be dramatised in such ' modern language' , if that makes sense? It was like watching Baz Lurhman's Romeo and Juliet in that it could have happened this century with the dialogue and presentation.
The only thing ( and it is a micro niggle of mine) were the costumes. I know it's a small production with limited money, but they could be worked on ( but that's just my opinion).
I would definitely go to see another production of theirs.
