About

Evocative alt-indie-pop due MAVEN GRACE expand on the widespread acclaim of their debut album Sleep Standing Up with a sweepingly cinematic live show.

Having attracted early support from luminaries such as Bryan Ferry and Radiohead, Maven Grace continue to entrance with songs variously acclaimed as ‘elegant’(Mojo), ‘stunning’ (Line Of Best Fit) and ‘heartbreakingly beautiful’ (Arts Desk).

A lush, elegant, uncanny and timeless world unto itself, Maven Grace’s second album Surface With A Smile reinvents the notion of what we call dreampop, with stately, widescreen dimensions and narratives that span the vividly enigmatic and the deeply personal. Their music stands outside almost any comparison - at a pinch, the triangulated space between Goldfrapp’s debut album Felt Mountain, Roxy Music’s final album Avalon and Scott Walker’s late-‘60s orchestrations.

The band have also harnessed a starry cast “at the top of their game,” underlining Surface With A Smile’s opulent dynamic. Reprising prominent roles from Maven Grace’s debut album are co- producer Chris Merrick Hughes (Tears For Tears, Adam & The Ants) and bassist Charlie Jones (Goldfrapp, Robert Plant). New additions are drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Radiohead) and album mixer Sam Petts-Davies (Radiohead, The Smile, Michael Kiwanuka, Frank Ocean) alongside Bryan Ferry’s in-house engineer Simon Willey.
