The Blairgowrie Town Hall is the only Town Hall in Perth & Kinross which has its own Town Hall Management Committee, whose purpose is to provide for the benefit of all residents residing in the catchment area of the Blairgowrie High School, without distinction as of sex, politics, religious or other opinions, and by associating with the Local Authority, Voluntary Organisations and residents of the designated area, in common effort, to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life, for the said residents.
The Town Hall comprises a large auditorium seating approximately 252 people, with a balcony seating a further 117. Upstairs is a smaller hall which is available for meetings of up to 20 people.
In the auditorium there is a full size stage, complemented by three back stage dressing rooms equipped with wash basins, mirrors and chairs, and three back-stage toilet cubicles each with hand washing facilities.
An audio system is available to hirers or they can bring their own equipment.
Modern Ladies toilets are located on the first floor, with Gents and Disabled toilets located on the ground floor.
Also on the ground floor is a large modern kitchen, equipped with a commercial six-burner gas hob and combined oven, two electric hot water urns, an upright fridge-freezer, a dishwasher for glasses and cups mugs, store cupboards for crockery, cutlery and etc. and a serving hatch. Washing facilities are provided by one double sink and one hand washing basin all with hot and cold running water.
The Town Hall is centrally heated by radiators operating from gas-fired boilers situated in the external boiler room.
The Town Hall is available for hire for all occasions such as parties, concerts, dances, funeral services, wedding receptions, keep fit and exercise classes, sale and craft fairs, at reasonable rates which can obtained by telephoning Sandy Barrie on 07836253097.
