Ferry Meadows Country Park

Come and join us in a fantastic sponsored walk in the beautiful Ferry Meadows Country Park for all ages and perfect for a family day out! There are a number of routes to suit all ages, pushchairs, toddlers, wheelchairs, the fit and the not so fit. Shortest route is 1 3 4 miles, 2 ½ miles and a 5 mile route -all of these routes are circular starting and finishing at the Lakeside Café & Bar- just in time for a well deserved cuppa and cake! The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK's only national charity dealing with all aspects of Cystic Fibrosis. It is an inherited disease, affecting more than 9000 people across the UK. It affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food. • Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis. • Each week, two young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis. The CF Trust has made great strides in changing Cystic Fibrosis from a disease of infancy to a long-term condition with a median survival rate now at 41 years. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases. We need to grow further to ensure that the life of CF sufferers is longer and that they have a better quality of life.
