Review of Carols by Candlelight, with Outreach Opera
Samlesbury Hall management is a disgrace to this beautiful building. I've been to many events here over the years and they always have some lame excuse as to why there is no heating on. You have to dress for the Arctic. Also, at night the path to the entrance is pitch dark. The back is all lit up, but there are no lights or signs to the front entrance. Very dangerous.

Review of Carols by Candlelight, with Outreach Opera
The performers were each fantastic and I would certainly recommend them but the venue was absolutely freezing. There was no heating on and everyone sat in their coats and scarves. It was so cold we simply couldn't stay until the end and left half-way through which was a shame. There were also no hot drinks available which, given the nature of the event and the cold weather was also disappointing.

Review of Carols by Candlelight, with Outreach Opera
Incredibly moving singing, beautiful atmosphere. Felt very festive, however my only criticism is that the chairs were uncomfortable and the venue was very cold. I think they should have charged a little more and included mulled wine and mince pies to add to the festive atmosphere. I also think the title was misleading as the first half was purely opera and not even particularly festive opera. We loved it but a few people were disgruntled. A very enjoyable evening though.

Review of Carols by Candlelight, with Outreach Opera
A very cold room, small and barely comfortable chairs, drinks prices were far too expensive , the staff put the heating on at the interval so it had warmed up a little by the time we left at 8pm. Poorly lit area from the car park to the entrance. No staff outside to direct us to the entrance!
The singing and ambience were excellent.

Review of Carols by Candlelight, with Outreach Opera
Absolutely poor, the venue was absolutely freezing with no prior direction or indication that it wouldnât be heated. The advert showed a beautiful candle lit room with a decorated Christmas tree surmising that it would be a candle lit Christmas atmosphere and very inviting. With an opportunity to purchase mulled wine and a mince pie. It was completely the opposite everyone sat in their outer wear absolutely perished it was that cold it was unbearable and sadly distracted from the performance. The mulled wine wasnât available as the heat container had broken. By the first interval most people up and left. What a poor event indeed. Utter waste of money.

Review of Charles Dickens\' a Christmas Carol
What an amazing show & boy what a venue. Really original event and beautifully acted by the cast. Won’t disappoint. This is a proper theatrical performance suitable for all the family (as opposed to a gimmicky event).

Review of Charles Dickens\' A Christmas Carol
This show was really good and atmospheric. The actors were really talented and the venue added to the haunted ideal of a true ghost story. I was really sceptical that it wouldn't cover everything it should do as it was only 40 minutes but it was brilliantly done. Strongly recommend!
