Review of Black Parade - 00\'s Emo Anthems
When you attend an event called “emo anthems” you expect a night of emo. There was a good amount of emo between 11pm and 12:30 but up to about 2/2:15 it was just pop punk, pop rock and not what you signed up for. Blink 182 are not and were never considered emo. My chemical Romance’s first album was emo but nothing after, I must have heard 12 tracks across both bands. Too much from any band in one night. The DJ said he has to play to his crowd, which I’d get if the dance floor was empty when he played emo, but it absolutely wasn’t. I mean, Metro Station? The greenday songs picked weren’t even good ones, wake me up when September ends was the straw that broke the camel’s back. And Avril?!? Not just the audacity of including Avril, but going from Slipknot to Avril is just shocking. Avril isn’t emo. And yes, I know Slipknot isn’t either, but at least it’s rock music! Avril lavigne = pop. No. Where was Atreyu? Where was Underoath? Circa Survive? Saosin? I’d we’re Going to push the envelope, Head Automatica, Brand New... no, a lot more emo needed to be able to call this an emo night. I had a great time for about 2 hours out of 4, which leaves me a bit disappointed.

Review of Black Parade - 00\'s Emo Anthems
Music was okay. Wasn’t as “emo” and nostalgic as we thought it was gonna be. The room was far far too hot, some air con would have been nice as the room was small and a lot of people in it! Had to go outside for fresh air! Overall had a good night
