KNOCKENGORROCH
Scotland’s longest running greenfield festival | Est. 1998

https://www.knockengorroch.org.uk

Knockengorroch Festival was born from a love of the land, excellent roots music and celebrating the good times. They present unparalleled music, arts and workshops in a beautiful mountain riverside meadow, located deep in the Southern Uplands of Scotland.

In times long past the native hills and streams of Scotland shaped its music. Stream becomes river, rural track becomes urban street, the musical landscape of today’s global village is diverse, both urban and rurally inspired. But all music speaks a universal language.

Knockengorroch promotes multi-cultural forms and musical genres, highlighting the connection between roots music and the lands and people that created it. Music from all continents is presented alongside the best in Scottish talent to showcase music in both traditional and contemporary fields.

Here at THE FERRET, we’re happy to collaborate with this excellent family-run festival to present a Preston party inspired by the sounds of Knockengorroch. Samson Sounds & Morphamish travel down from Scotland to give us a taste of the late-night atmosphere you can find in Knockengorroch’s fields. They’re joined by local talents Tyramyx & Luke Out, as we bring you a night of hearty rhythm, hefty bass & positive dancefloor vibrations.

SAMSON SOUNDS
(positive dancefloor vibrations)

https://www.knockengorroch.org.uk/artist/samson-sounds/

Samson Sounds have been igniting dance floors across the country for over a decade, blending worldwide grooves, digital production, and live instrumentation into a sound that is uniquely their own. Known for their high-energy stage performances and infectious rhythms, they create music rooted in creativity, positivity, and deep connection.

In a fast-changing musical landscape, the power of gathering together—entering creative flow and embracing the present moment—feels more vital than ever. As they step into 2025, they do so with gratitude and reverence for the cultures that inspire them. Their mission remains the same: to create art together and share it, in real time and space, with the people and places they love.

~~~~~~~~
MORPHAMISH
(Labrat Audio // RIOT Radio Records)
https://www.knockengorroch.org.uk/artist/morphamish-2/
Morphamish creates fresh, anything-goes dance music for the weird and wonderful. Morphamish promises a high-energy fusion of bass-heavy techno, wobbling subs, acid-tinged grooves, breakbeats, afro percussion, and pounding kicks—layered with funk, multiple tempos, and deep bass music influences.
Expect a journey through sweet melodies and heavy, psychoactive sounds, blending drum and bass, techno, and beyond. Hefty, hearty, bouncy.
~~~~~~~~

TYRAMYX
(Just Jungle // Below Ground)

https://linktr.ee/tyramyx

A blend of old school jungle, breaks, and DnB, Tyramyx brings high-energy, fast-paced mixes that'll have you bouncing from start to finish. Tyramyx has been spinning in Preston since 2006 and has played all over the UK, Ibiza and France whilst also promoting her own mega events.

~~~~~~~~
LUKE OUT
(One Five Eight)
https://www.instagram.com/luke_out_/
Luke Breen (aka MrBreen / Luke Out) began his DJ journey in the early 2000s with Herbal Sessions Soundsystem, playing at venues like Preston’s iconic Caribbean Club. As a visual artist, he led the OneFiveEight collective (2008-2018), which gained recognition for underground exhibitions, workshops, and publications, all driven by a DIY ethos and a commitment to supporting underrepresented artists in both visual arts and music. After moving to Manchester, Luke became a regular DJ at club nights, free parties, and festivals like Beat Herder, Kendal Calling, and Sounds From The Other City.
Now settled back in Preston with his family, Luke regularly DJs at local bars and clubs, delivering eclectic sets that could span anything from Jazz, Latin and Hip-Hop to Afrobeat, Funk, Deep House, and Jungle—always infused with Soul.
~~~~~~~~

TEMPORARY BODIES
(Utopian Mechanics)

https://linktr.ee/utopian.mechanics

Temporary Bodies is the new project from Preston-based artist Mike Warburton (Barium Network / Utopian Mechanics). Based entirely around live, improvised performance - on-the-spot loops are fed through an array of fx pedals to create layers of sonorous strings and pads, swirling ambient textures and melodies that range from the Baroque to the bleak.

Inspired by the characteristics of artists like Grouper, MJ Guider, Silent Servant and Deaf Center amongst many more, Temporary Bodies also uses hypnotic drum loops, orchestral motifs and sparse vocals to build a dense, cathartic experience that guides the listener through themes of loss and longing into a place of quiet optimism.
