The Ferret is an awesome venue, central to the music community of the area - supporting local musicians while introducing us to fabulous artists from further afield and across diverse genres.
Tonight we had the amazing 'Sly & the Family Drone' pounding out a percussive barrage, overlaid with drone electronic soundscapes accented by free-form jazz sax. This was followed up by the outrageously powerful 'Part Chimp', an onslaught of garage-psyche tinged post-punk delivered with utter conviction and devoid of over-elaboration or pretension. I doubt there's a better live rock band on the circuit at the moment.
