Review of Elder Emo UK - Halloween Special - RIP Kerrang TV with Jon Mahon
Event didn't do half of what it promised which was really disappointing for the price.
The music was mostly edm/ bass remixes which I noticed most people stood outside in the smoking area to avoid, as it's not what anyone came for. The crowd killing went hard at some points maybe 10 people were on the floor and they kept going rather than switching to crows pleasers.
They decorated the venue really nice and staff were lovely but there was no blood rave which is kind of sad.
I would say of the whole night only like 1-2 hours they played classic emo music that wasn't remixed. By the end of the night staff kept making inside jokes about wrestling with the regulars which was weird for those who dgaf about wrestling.
I don't know what happened with the costume contest if it went ahead or not as left at 2am which was an hour before it finished cause they kept playing music not from theme but what the wrestle mania fans wanted... I don't think it was going to go ahead since most people in costume went home as normally you don't host that at the last second of the night. The drinks are pretty good range but can't quite justify cost.
Been other events in Blackpool that had more people who were dressed as Kerrang music videos when it wasn't the theme. Not a single person dressed as MCR or even Fred Durst like classic Halloween emos.
Was fun when they played emo music and at the karaoke vibe was good. Maybe like a 4/10.
