Review of The Beggar's Bash 2
Great music, but accessibility was poor for the four wheelchair users in attendance. The front door was not accessible, so the only possible entry / exit point was the patio doors where the bands were loading in and out. Once in, there was no way to leave, as the manager emphatically closed the doors and the bands put all their amps and gear in front of the doors. This was also supposed to be a fire exit, so this was also dangerous. I had to ask the bands to move all their gear so that I could leave. The disabled toilet is also totally inadequate; it is too small for a wheelchair user to get out of their chair, or to turn the chair around. Two of the disabled people in attendance need the assistance of carers to use the loo; this is absolutely impossible in a disabled loo so small. I try to support as many Salisbury Live events as possible, but I would not go to an event at the Rugby Club again.
