Hunzz & Flatmoon @ Record Junkee

Hunzz is a contemporary five piece, Funk/Pop outfit from North Wales, blending classic styles to create a fun yet melodic sound.Made up of members Rosie Hamilton, Samuel Roberts, Owen Jones, Ciaran Fletcher and Matthew Bicknall.

A unique lead vocal is paired with smooth basslines, dynamic drum beats, decorated with funky guitar riffs, sweet keyboard and saxophone melodies. Vocal harmonies add a finishing touch to layer Hunzz distinctive soundscapes.

They have played across the UK at prestigious venues such as Matt and Phreds in Manchester and The Domino Club in Leeds, establishing a loyal fan base and gaining praise and play from BBC Radio Wales.

Hello, we’re Flat Moon. We are six people from various parts of the UK that due to the unpredictability of life have found ourselves working together on a musical project that continues to exist through a shared love for funky music and freaky people.

There are a lot of bands out there and we know you’re spoilt for choice, so it means a lot to us that you’ve found yourself on our homemade website, reading this here biographical passage. Welcome. 

At this point in a band description, it tends to be the case that you are informed of our genre, and where we fit in with the rest of the musical landscape, in which so many millions of artists are trying to carve their niche.

 The truth is, we don’t really know. We’re like a modern funk band, that’s usually what we describe ourselves as, but like everyone interested in creating art, we have a lot of influences. 

So as well as genres, here’s a short list of what you might feel whilst listening to us, be it live or on record (including but not limited to): Funk, happy, psychedelic rock, confused, punk, afraid, jazz-fusion, impressed, disco, carefree, hard rock, energetic, blues, melancholy, soul, inspired, afro-beat, entranced.
