The Station are a lively original indie-rock’n’roll band, blasting the scene into the roaring 2020s with their unique band of raucous musical optimism. This year has been the band’s busiest yet, with headline appearances at grassroots festivals in Sheffield and further afield, as well as packed-out shows in London, across the country, and abroad. Likened to a ‘light at the end of a tunnel’, the band’s ’joyous energy’ has been praised by figures including Nick Cave and Robert Carlyle; and their recent releases (Orpheus, & It’ll Be OK) have received regular airtime on BBC radio.
The Turncoats:
The Turncoats are South-Yorkshire’s most relentless rock’n’rollers, and have built up a rabid following in Sheffield by gigging all over the city and beyond over the past year. Combining the songwriting sensibilities of bands like The Kinks and Bob Dylan with the stage swagger of the Stones, they are as formidable live as they are catchy on record; with recent single ’Trees Fall Hard’ fast becoming an anthem of the grassroots scene. Recent live appearances include Tramlines Fringe, Hallamshire Hotel, Sidney and Matilda, The Washington, and other venues around the city.
Watermelon Dave:
Watermelon Dave are Sheffield’s newest, liveliest, most electrifying jazz-funk-soul fusion band; putting a cacophony of horns, organs, synthesisers, and funky guitar to a foot-stomping, heart-pumping beat. Recent headlines at Tramlines Fringe and venues around the city (Sidney and Matilda, Dorothy Pax, etc) have quickly built the band’s reputation as one of the city’s most entertaining new live acts.
