Malah Palinka + The Lemur Conspiracy + Max Marlow

A funkalicious night for modern jazz and funk enthusiasts, Malah Palinka are teaming up with The Lemur Conspiracy and Max Marlow for a night of groove based music. 

Expect an evening of drums so deep in the pocket that you'll find some spare change, horn sections so tight they knock your socks off (in a good way), and instrumental solos so good they will fix your childhood traumas (they won't). 

This is Malah Palinka's biggest show yet, having sold out a steady stream of Sheffield headline shows, taking place in Sidney & Matilda's BRAND NEW gallery space. The show comes soon after the release of Malah Palinka's second EP "Is It Happening Now?"

Inspired by funk, jazz, soul, hip-hop, and pop, Malah Palinka are an 8-piece ensemble from Sheffield, UK. Citing references including Vulfpeck, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Snarky Puppy, the band combine infectious funk grooves, swanky harmonies, and dreamlike lyrics delivered in 3-part harmony. Malah Palinka’s energetic live performances are designed to get people moving and grooving along to their brassy hooks and tight rhythm section.

The Lemur Conspiracy is an 8-piece original jazz-funk band based in Sheffield. Comprised of an explosive 3-piece horn section and a compelling 5-piece rhythm section, The Lemur Conspiracy deliver enough energy to bring the house down every night. Drawing from an eclectic range of modern and traditional influences, spanning jazz, afrobeat and dance music, The Lemur Conspiracy write and perform original music that stands among the UK’s thriving contemporary jazz scene.

Max Marlow

An established drummer, songwriter and producer from London, Max Marlow ticks lots of the right boxes. His mesmerising live performances combine DJ'ing and drumming his original groove tunes to hip-moving effect.
