Photo North Festival Pop Up. FREE student photography competition and FREE event, Sheffield.
About this Event
The pop-up Sheffield competition is open to any student in the city, whether studying photography, an arts related subjects - or simply an avid photographer wishing to enhance their skills.
This inspiring and inclusive competition will centre on ‘community’, encouraging entrants to think about what community means today: looking at what brings communities together be that a place, tradition, religion, employment, sexuality, politics, sport or other interest - or maybe what divides communities within the Steel City.
Participants can use portraits, still life, round images or documentary to reflect their interpretation of the brief, with the winner receiving an hour mentoring / portfolio session with award-winning photographer Peter Dench of the Photo North Festival.
The competition is open now, with deadline for entries 16th March 2020.
FINALISTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXHIBIT ALONGSIDE LEGENDARY HOMER SYKES AND PETER DENCH FROM 1ST APRIL - 30TH JUNE 2020.
Winner and runners up from the competition will be unveiled on Wednesday 1st April at the Photo North Pop Up at The Park Hill Shop, Pinstone Street, Sheffield - alongside other areas of the city, to be announced, across the year.
THE FINALISTS EVENT, ON WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL, WILL INCLUDE:
TALK AND Q&A BOOK SIGNINGS / MEET THE ARTIST; PORTFOLIO REVIEWS; LIVE MUSIC; FOOD & BAR.
