With kilometres of glorious coastline and islands galore, you might wonder why a Spanish festival would be situated in a bone-dry desert. However, as Monegros gears up for its 19th edition you can only assume the 40,000 people who attend each year's 24 hour party don’t mind the arid landscape and are fine with a little sand in their shoes. Blossoming from its origins as an underground affair run by a group of friends, today there is plenty on offer for fans of all sorts of sounds. 2012 rave antiques The Prodigy headline along with appearances from Richie Hawtin, 2ManyDJs and over 50 more acts. Look out for the special fireworks display on Sunday which closes the festival each year. 2013 is headlined by Underworld, Public Enemy, Richie Hawtin and Vitalic.
