It started 20 years ago, when a girl with a sense of adventure walked into a Manchester music shop asking if they knew any bands looking for a singer. Within a week Minorplanet were writing, recording and making plans. Gigs happened, a UK tour in a transit van. Dalliances with high-profile A&R men, sliding-door moments, sleeping on floors, a romance with the bass player. Drummer issues... always drummer issues... The studio was booked, single cut and played on radio. Minorplanet organised their own mini-festival in collaboration with Manchester's Key103FM and double-headlined with Maximo Park. The drummer's bass pedal-beater flew into the crowd... oops. More gigs, more drummers, and a prime-time ITV performance followed and Minorplanet were set for the big time... then life happened. Wind forward 20 years - the singer's married to the bass player, day jobs abound, kids are around... but the music lives on. Minorplanet had unfinished business...
