Stockport Music Story 10cc Plaque & Strawberry Studios Tour

If you are a fan of 10cc and the Strawberry Studios legacy, this is a tour not to miss.

The Stockport Music Story is proud to announce the unveiling of our 10cc commemorative plaque on the Strawberry Studios building on Waterloo Road with special guests, Liam Newton, author of '10cc - The Worst Band in the World', Peter Tattersall, founder of Strawberry Recording Studios and Dr Peter Wadsworth, curator of the Strawberry Studios archive.

The Tour will meet at midday at Red Bull, Hillgate, the favourite watering hole of 10cc and where they would famously go to eat when they were recording all their early hits. 

At 12.30pm we will walk to Strawberry Studios on Waterloo Road where we will then unveil the Stockport Music Story plaque to commemorate 10cc's contribution to the legacy of Strawberry Studios. Your tour guide John Barratt and our special guests Peter Tattersall, Peter Wadsworth and Liam Newton will all say a few words.

The tour will then have the unique opportunity to go inside the Strawberry Studios building into what was the control room and studio space. This is now a working office space but the original window between the control room and studio still exists.

Inside the studio, Dr Peter Wadsworth will play some exclusive pieces of music from the Strawberry Studios archive with recollections from the studio founder Peter Tattersall. Liam Newton will then talk about 10cc's history recording at Strawberry Studios.

Around 2pm approximately we will return to Red Bull on Middle Hillgate for a social where they will be an opportunity to sample the famous Red Bull hospitality with a complementary 'Dreadlock Holiday' hot buffet featuring jerk chicken, rice and vegetarian options. Please note that drinks are not included. This is also an opportunity to chat with our special guests and to hear the newly released Strawberry Studios Forever album which will be on sale at the event.

Please allow enough time on your parking if you would like to stay for the social. 

For music fans who love 10cc and their contribution to the music, this is a unique experience. Please note there are very limited places due to space inside Strawberry Studios.
