SUNDAY, 28th - SHINDIG AT STEAM YARD

15:00 - Hot Club of Halifax: Spend the afternoon with the enchanting melodies of the Hot Club of Halifax.

The Hot Club of Halifax area collective of seasoned musicians offering dynamic and charismatic renditions of songs and tunes from the Django gypsy jazz repertoire.The HCoH features two guitarists, three vocalists, double bass, clarinet and fiddle, totalling five musicians in all, and deliver a substantial helping of deep and danceable swing interlaced with thoughtful arrangements of Jazz and Latin infused standards, Gypsy waltzes and folk music from other parts of the world.Vernon ‘Golden D’ Bigs by is one of the best gypsy jazz guitarists this side of WatfordJunction. Gerard ‘Og’ Cavallari enjoys singing songs from the Romani tradition. Double bassist and singer Helen ‘Jelly Roll’ Hutchy’s pre-HCoH experience included singing and playing bass, banjo and guitar with blue grass and Western Swing outfits. Andrew ‘Lord D’Lawrenson spent many years travelling the length of the country playing festivals, village halls and jazz clubs with his own trio. Christine ‘Sweet C’ Pinkard is a classically trained clarinetist who has played in a number of jazz and klezmer groups in the Yorkshire area

18:00 - Back on the Road: Close out the festival with the vibrant and nostalgic tunes of Back on the Road.

Back On The Road comprise of 5 musicians that are all well known on the music scene.
We play classic Rock, Pop & Blues crowd pleasing covers & it’s great to be Back On The Road!!
