About

WILLY AND THE POOR BOYS

Back in 1980 Willy and the Poor Boys were one of the most highly prized bands on Big Bear’s Live at the Barrel Organ album. Sadly, despite a highly successful career for the few years, it was other bands that broke through and ultimately Willy and the Poor Boys disbanded. Fast forward some 40 years and the band reassembled at Henry’s Blueshouse. So now once again Roger Bromley and Dave Pritchard (guitars), Phil Tree (bass guitar) and Dave Griffiths (drums) are – Willy and the Poor Boys!

Every second Thursday is blues night at Steamyard. Henry's Blues House is coming to Stourbridge and will be bringing some of the best blues bands the UK has to offer

The original Henry’s Blueshouse opened in The Crown Hotel in 1968 and ran every Tuesday under the flag Tuesdays is Bluesdays. After a short break of some 50 years, Henry’s Blueshouse reopened, this time at The Bulls Head in Bishopsgate Street, just off Broad Street, Birmingham’s entertainment hub. Henry’s Blueshouse at The Bulls Head is organised by the venue’s founder, Jim Simpson, in conjunction with Davenports Brewery.
