Review of Tonbridge Comic-Con
As a first time event it was great. A good price for the event, which was very much appreciated as lots of these things are prohibitive if you want the family to go. The hall was busy, but not overly crowded, which felt good. The atmosphere was friendly and the stall holders were a good mix, reasonable pricing, and great to see in a local setting, local for us. It was great to see a broad mix of guests, though personally leaning mostly towards Dr Who, understandable! It is a classic which has many years of fandom behind it. But I did appreciate seeing other performers from more recent shows on TV and in film, and being able to talk to them was a bonus. Signings were very reasonably priced, and all were very approachable and also looked as though they were enjoying it too! I loved the mix of Props you could pose in/on/with. A big plus for those particularly with youngsters or who wanted to cross into a different part of 'fandom' than their costume of the time. VR was a good option for those who wanted to take part, give a bit of tech but personal, so it doesn't detract or distract others from the main hall. I would have liked to know a rough programme for celeb talks, they were announced to a burst of music relevant to them (I recall Star Wars theme being played) but we missed some good stuff as we were too busy doing the rounds of the dealer tables, and unaware of what was behind us. I missed Groot - I really wanted to see him! but again, he was behind us and we had no idea! If there was an overall soundtrack to the day I wasn't really aware of it all the time, hence my midway marking on that. Venue was good for first time, but obviously once you have been there and run one, you know what works, where it could use a little more 'dressing' and all that, BRILLIANT that you chose a Sunday so all the Car Parking was free of charge. I am sure that will decide quite a few dealers in future if you change day to a chargeable one, unless you can do a deal with the Council for their vehicles for the event.
You could do with somewhere / something to buy a burger or a drink other than the vending machines in the centre, although I appreciate you have Sainsburys next door not everyone would be comfortable wandering round the supermarket (particularly if you are in costume with a big prop - kid with a giant scythe springs to mind) - so please consider that for something in future.
You could just step in and literally walk around, do nothing, look at nothing, and walk out the door again, in 30 minutes. My son and I went for our first Comic-Con and we were there for a good and thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. And we didn't particpate in quite a bit, as I said. I really wanted to do character dress to attend, but not this year; the next one though, will be a different matter! Costumes galore, everyone who dressed up came as so many varied characters and again, they really looked like they had a ball. Yes I recommend, and yes I am definitely going back to the next one in Tonbridge - we need more things like this as lots of kids of all ages went and smiled all day.

Review of Tonbridge Comic-Con
the first comic con in Tonbridge, our boys aged 13 and 11 yrs really enjoyed themselves and would recommend this. It would have benefited from having a selection of food and drinks available, there was only unchilled canned drinks and chocolate bars. A greater range of stalls and events would be good but for the first event it wasn't a bad start, an added bonus being close to home and with easy parking and a great ticket price.

Review of Tonbridge Comic-Con
Shocking. Cannot believe I paid a significant amount of money for my family to attend. It felt rather like a school fete selling overpriced collectors toys in a leisure centre hall, with a few dressed up superheroes. Was not what I was expecting at all. If entry cost was only £2 per person it would have been worth the money but I paid £8 each for to adults and a teen and £5 each for 2 children £34 for about half hour entertainment before we all got bored. Shocking price
