Join Sara Kay (of Serious Laughter) and Dr. Nicholas Peters in this special wellbeing workshop.
What is Laughter Yoga? A unique exercise routine, intentional Laughter created through value and playful exercises interspersed with clapping and deep Yogic breathing.
How can I laugh if I don’t feel like it? With specially designed warm-up exercises, hearty laughter is initiated. There is no need to be happy to do the exercises. You are gently guided through these.

Why should I try this activity? Laughter Yoga is a simultaneous mind and body workout. The benefits include better resilience to cope, great social connection, increased brain function (creativity, motivation, and production), improved energy levels through a large healthy dose of feel-good endorphins, decreased stress levels, immunity boost, and pain relief, amongst many more benefits.

Yoga Nidra: Following the Laughter Yoga, you will be guided through Yoga Nidra, a non-sleep, deep rest meditation, where the mind is fully conscious, but the body goes to sleep. Twenty minutes of Yoga Nidra equates to approximately two hours of restful sleep. This is an excellent holistic treatment for fatigue, and retraining your body in knowing how to sleep deeply.

Sound Bath: After Yoga Nidra, you will soak in the beautiful healing sounds of Himalayan singing bowls, shamanic frame drums, Koshi wind chimes, and other sacred sound instruments.
What to bring: A bottle of water, a Yoga mat, a pillow, a blanket (as you will be lying down for the Yoga Nidra and the Sound Bath), and willingness! Please ensure that you are well-hydrated and that you do not have a full stomach.

Contraindications for Laughter Yoga and Sound Baths:
Any contraindication associated with aerobic exercise (including heart disease, irregular heart rhythms, and shortness of breath).
    • Anyone in the first trimester of pregnancy. (If you are in the second or third trimester, it is safe to attend my sound baths, but please let me know.)

    About the Facilitators:
Sara Kay, from Greater Manchester, UK, teaches Laughter Yoga and is also a Happiness Facilitator, running workshops for businesses and communities across the North West.
After having depression for many years, in 2016 Sara found out about laughing intentionally and this was a life-changing moment to de-stress and create positivity from within.
In 2019 she was awarded the title Laughter Ambassador in recognition of her work.

Sara's passion for spreading the health benefits of Laughter Yoga shines through in her sessions, and she has significantly increased the promotion of this wonderful wellbeing exercise during the pandemic with the help and recognition of the College of Medicine (Social Prescribing - the alternative to prescriptions).

Dr. Nicholas Peters completed his PhD in Sonic Art in 2019, exploring his music-making practice in relation to his shamanic journeying. Nicholas specialises in creating shamanic soundscapes, as well as improvising music in real-time. His music has been featured on BBC Sounds Mindful Mix, as well as being used in the multi-award-winning short film The Youth of Nature. He is accredited with the IPHM as a sound and mantra therapy practitioner, a shamanic practitioner, as a chakra balancing and energy healer, and as a meditation teacher.
