Review of Newton Music Festival
As somebody who used to promote bands back in the 80's I feel for the first festival in Newton it was exceptional. Obviously a few small lessons can be learned but from free parking, not overpriced food and drink to an almost perfect line up with The Ks and Lottery Winners it will be hard to beat line up for 2025. Perhaps Blossums or Zutons and a dream would be annual return of The Ks and possibly surprise guest such as Rick Astley if he could be persuaded to return home.
The helpfulness of volunteers and staff to disabled also needs a special mention.
I will be back, The K's were on fire as was Mense Park !

Review of Newton Music Festival
We went last night & would say really enjoyed it, food was exceptional & reasonably priced. The only downside was the disabled facilities or rather the lack of, we were told there was a disabled entrance plus seating area & were to make ourselves known to a member of staff for assistance to the disabled area....nope didn't happen, eventually a security guard called Lee was amazing he got us a bench to sit on whilst queuing & bottles of water as it was so hot, he also found one of the organisers a lovely guy called Bernie who was an absolute gem, he liased with St Helens council & managed to get us a cordoned off area with benches & a couple of security guards to look after us also it was great to see so many special needs people with us too, Bernie got us very close to the stage which was brilliant, we did however have some serious abuse off one guy but security picked up on him straight away & removed him from the festival other than that everything in the end was great. Would I go again...yes but would like the promoter/organisers/st Helen's council to stick to what they said they'd do for us disabled & not make us feel discriminated against, we love the bands just as much as the next person.

Great event. Getting in was pretty horrendous (no idea why you need wristbands if not allowing re-entry, and no signage for the different queues), but apart from that it was an excellent event.

My problem is with the organisers. Security on the queue for wristbands was non existent, groups of people just joining anywhere they liked. No cider left before 8 an nothing left by 9:30. Luckily the music made up for it when eventually got in.
