About

About the band…….

A Band Called Malice - taken as a play on words from the No.1 hit single by The Jam “A Town Called Malice”. ABCM are all experienced musicians who share a love for The Jam. Our Paul Weller is played by Andy Coultas and our Rick Buckler by Warren Mee. We have two bass players to fulfil the part of Bruce Foxton, Matt Barker who was our original bassist and Chris Barr. Matt was unable to play all the gigs so we auditioned and were extremely fortunate that Chris came along just at the right time.… There’s no favouritism as both Matt and Chris are excellent performers - you can see our “Meet the Band” page for a write up on each band member not forgetting our hard working manager Steve Humberstone who like us all has “The Jam” in his blood.

If you come along to one of our gigs you can expect to experience the fire and skill as A band Called Malice deliver an high energy reproduction of classic songs written and performed by The Jam who exploded onto the pop scene in 1977 with their hit single “In the city” A Band Called Malice will not only play hits of The Jam but expect to hear album tracks, songs which have become classics and B sides too. The band invite you to head to the “Help to pick the set list” page where you can put the songs you want to hear forward for the nights set list!!

The energetic and angst performance from A Band Called Malice has proved the band to be the most authentic JAM tribute, becoming The high quality of their shows has rewarded with them being selected as finalists in the National Tribute Awards when only in their second year together and the only Jam tribute to be awarded with a tour of the O2 Academy network in 2024.. You will hear tracks from all 6 studio albums, B-sides and album tracks rarely performed by other Jam tributes, as well as guaranteed tracks like, The Eton Rifles, Down in the Tubestation at Midnight, Start, That’s Entertainment, Going Underground and of course, A Town Called Malice. Jam fans won’t be disappointed.
