The Parade Watford

Motionhouse is celebrating its 25th anniversary year in 2013 with the creation of two new shows, Broken which is touring to theatre venues and festival piece, Captive. Captive has been devised both for audiences new to dance performance, and audiences who are familiar with Motionhouse’s exhilarating, highly athletic style. Breathtaking, highly energetic and intoxicating, four dancers perform Captive inside a large cage. Disorientated and shaken, they use all of their skill and instinct to survive a dazzling performance at breakneck speed. Powerfully physical, emotionally charged and an extraordinary blend of dance and aerial work, Captive is inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem The Panther.
