Alistair Griffin, a singer songwriter from the North East has a reputation for writing songs for the nations biggest moments.
As a Boro fan he recently penned the music for Middlesbrough musical Steel & Iron which debuted at the Riverside Stadium. Well known in the area he first came to prominence on BBC show Fame Academy. After being championed by BeeGee Robin Gibb on the show the two of them recorded 'My Lovers Prayer' which became hit single with double A-side 'Bring It On'.
He emerged again with a new album Albion Sky shortly after his song 'Just Drive' entered the Top 40 after being used by the BBC to close their coverage of an exciting F1 season in 2010. Just Drive went on to be the F1 theme for seven seasons on Sky Sports.
Since then his songs have been used to montage all the great British sporting events including Wimbledon, the Olympics, the FA Cup and British Open golf to name a few. When the Tour de France came to Yorkshire in 2014, it was Alistair's song The Road that was the official soundtrack, a duet with Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud.
His cover of "Only You" was streamed to billions round the globe when once again the BBC picked Alistair's take on the Yazoo classic to montage the 2018 Royal Wedding
