Cracking line up and music couldn't be faulted. Great atmospere. Only downer was the toilets flooding.

Me and a friend went to see this, we had a great time, loads of good music, would definitely go and see them again.

Enjoyable night. Very good bands (mostly), decent venue apart from the toilets which were starting to flood, good value admission price, drinks prices not cheap but fairly typical for a music venue. Overall well worth going to.

We were worried itd be a taunt fest but safely sitting a row back we managed to get away without participation. The comics and MC were all really good and the staff were very friendly.  Venue could use some TLC but enjoyed ourselves 

Review of Hyena Lounge Comedy Club

It was my first time here (previously at York City Screen Basement).  I joined two good friends at the entrance and there was a bit delay to open the door so my friend has to ring them so that they open the door. The staff members are a bit cold, I understand they are very young but they may need to look at their clients and talk to them. The boy and the girl at the bar seems a bit shy to talk and sounds that they are communicating with each other in body language and eyes that the customer they support to serve. The girl didn't look around and she is quick to run inside and (may be) to meet the boy. 
The stage was open but the comedian took so long to appear. Once it started there were two lads who came to the show late (I can not understand why they were allowed to enter) given their behaviour - a bit disrespectful, laud and drank and one of them answering his mobile and disrupting the comedian. The comedian did a great job by engaging them and being polite them. But, that was not a good judgment to let in drank people after the comedy has started. Later on another two lads came again. Same as the previous two, drank and more disrespectful and disrupting to the comedian on the stage. Again the comedian was great in handling such disruption.  That was the moment that the three of us were rally unhappy about the club and question why we should buy the ticket in the first place. I personally tried to calm them down by offering my drink, when they shout ' we have no drink and where we can but drink' although the comedian explained them that the bar was over there. They just want to be funny and waste our time and engagement with the comedian. Probably it was not a good experience for me, the place, hospitality and service at the bar is below the standard. I enjoyed the comedians and they all great, but £15 is lots of money and your customers have good service for the money. I DONT think most people get that satisfaction due the combination of poor customer service and irresponsible people (4 of them). May be a little bit more training and motivation for the young barristers / server at the bar and at the front entrance and restrictions to allow people once the comedy starts. I am sorry I want to be honest with you this was what I felt on my first day at this place.  Hope this is helpful and improve things for the future.
