Sankeys first opened its doors way back in June 1994 and fast became the hedonistic home of house music in the UK – subversive and different to any other club around. 20 years on and the original Victorian Mill in the now regenerated area of Ancoats, Manchester, has transpired into the pioneering musical institution of the north. A prime destination for the serious UK clubbing community, Sankeys has built a worldwide reputation based on three things: the atmosphere, the people and the music, with programming dedicated to curating a superlative amalgamation of cutting-edge house, techno & electro; pushing boundaries with home-grown talent & global music bastions. Renowned nights such as Tribal have cemented the clubs reputation as a trailblazer of underground music ever since the illegal raves of the 90s, and has maintained its focus on keeping that no-frills party vibe running. 2010 recognised Sankeys as the number one dance club in the world (as voted by Mixmag) and is now celebrating its 20th year, continuing to evolve with clubs in Ibiza and London, extending its status as one of the most iconic clubs in the world.
