Freshers Week

Here you are, you’ve landed wide-eyed in the city of Swansea with no clue where to go and what to do now. It can take a bit of time to get used to your new surroundings but we’re here to try and make the transition a bit easier. So here are some of the best live music venues and clubs to get familiar with in Swansea.

Wind Street

Wind Street is known as the heart of Swansea’s nightlife. On this one street, you’ll find a high concentration of clubs and bars that will be brimming with eager new Freshers. There are some must-visit places such as Idols Bar, The Bucket List, Bambu Beach Bar and The Griffin. There are plenty of drink offers and a walk down Wind Street will see you experience a whole range of sounds from all the different DJs.

Live Music

The Gwyn Hall

In nearby Neath town centre lies The Gwyn Hall, a building that has been around since 1887. Now a multi-purpose venue that is often used as a cinema, it’s also a place for gigs to take place in its 393 capacity theatre.

So if you’re looking for a musical experience somewhere a little bit different then it’ll definitely be worth the journey over to Neath.

The Bunkhouse

The Bunkhouse is a relatively young music venue in Swansea, made up of two separate rooms with a bar and a large stage where they champion some brilliant upcoming bands. A top of the range PA system brings the noise directly into your skull.

They pride themselves on supporting local businesses and 100% of their draught products are supplied by local brewers. So get down, grab a pint and watch some quality live entertainment.

Sin City

Sin City brings some of the biggest names in electronic music over to Swansea for huge sets. Working with promoters such as Bassline, DJs such as Shy FX and High Contrast will be passing through in 2021.

This is the place to go for your massive nights out, the ones that last far too late into the early hours of the morning but leave you with absolutely no regrets. Make sure you get yourself booked onto a show at Sin City.

Clubs

The Attic

Opening its doors in 2016, Attic prides itself on creating unforgettable nights. So it sounds like the perfect place to get one of your first tastes of Swansea nightlife. With nights that switch between electronic to house and disco, you can always find the right vibe here.

With special guest performers curating nights here all the time, prepare to hear some of you favourite new tunes come from behind the decks.

Fiction and Myu

Fiction and Myu is one of the best places you can go as a Fresher in Swansea. With dedicated nights for new students being put on throughout Freshers week, they’ll draw you in for the rest of your university life.

With Big Freshers Lockdown events happening soon, make sure you don’t miss a night out at Fiction and Myu.
