Joey Wit & The Dirty Verses:
Joey Wit is back at The Ferret! Some of you will remember him from a couple of years ago, when he hosted our open mic night. Joey started out as a professional baseball player. After his sports career ended suddenly, he went back to his first love: writing and performing music. He grew up on the Beatles and the Stones, and now makes indie rock influenced by Wilco and Radiohead, with a touch of classic prog. His songs are honest stories about love, loss and getting a second chance.
His second album, Rose Gold, came out in 2024. It features Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett & The Blackhearts) on lead guitar, and its single “Leave It to Me” reached #24 on the Radio Indie Alliance Charts. Since then Joey has toured the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Switzerland and the US West Coast. He’s also recorded a new album at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio, and this summer he played his first solo tour of Japan. Now he’s back in the UK with his rock ’n’ roll band, The Dirty Verses. As The Whole Kameese put it, it’s “Pure Rock & Roll Gold.”
Katie & The Bad Sign:
Manchester’s Katie & The Bad Sign bring punchy guitars, bold attitude and a voice that fills the room. Their debut album Revolution is blues-soaked rock ’n’ roll from the first riff. They’ve played festivals including Weyfest and Upton Blues, shared bills with Jools Holland and Ocean Colour Scene, and had airplay from BBC Introducing and Planet Rock. They’re fast becoming one of the UK’s new rock acts to watch.
Rhiannon Kira Hill:
Best known as the fiery frontwoman of rock band Kira Mac, Rhiannon Kira Hill has performed on stages and at festivals across the UK and Europe, and has appeared on The Voice. Tonight she brings her powerhouse vocals to a stripped-back solo set.
