There's so many amazing festivals out there but it can be difficult to work out which festivals you're going to attend. There's so many things to take into consideration - the location of the festival, the size of the festival, the genre of music, whether it's family friendly and the type of facilities onsite.
Skiddle's new Festivals Finder is here to make the process that bit easier. Simply use the Festivals Finder's unique festival search, which include options allowing you to search for festivals based on filters such as location; month; genres; type; size; accommodation; amenities and even the artists you've liked on Facebook!
SNO aka Selina Nongaliphe Oliphant grew up in the township of Bophelong in the Vaal, South Africa. SNO's uncle was the finest collector of Jazz, Soul, Funk, Afrobeat and Disco. "He suffocated me with tune after tune for years. When he sold his collection, I felt loss that I still haven’t felt to date."
A well known head on the music scene for years, once SNO managed to get a proper turntable at home in 2015, she started collecting the very records her uncle sold, and more, as she has never stopped learning about music.
SNO's presence on the Manchester DJ scene has been sudden and explosive. This is due in no small part to the diversity and depth of her record bag. Not one to be pinned to a genre, her love of hip hop and bass styles frequently co-exist amongst the finest Afrobeat, Jazz and rare groove selections.
Her first guest mix for the Groovement podcast series quickly established her as a DJ to watch. SNO's genre straddling style has already won her sets in Cape Town South Africa, at the Maseru Summer Shake Down 2015 in Lesotho, and some of the best nights in Manchester - including the Soup Kitchen, Roots Before Branches, Better Days, the Disco Mums, and Hidden where she warmed at the Banana Hill night in the same room as Giles Peterson and Earl Zinger.
She is also the new resident at Idle Moments, held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at The Live Room in Manchester were she plays warm and sunny delights from the Jazz, African, Latin and Funk diaspora.
SNO also has a new monthly show on ReformRadio.co.uk called Dip It Low with SNO. The show is broadcast on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 7–9pm UK time and 9–11 pm Mzansi time.
