Things couldn't be going much better for Patrick Topping right now.
The North Shields native is selling out headline shows across the world, bagging awards and has just launched his new TRICK label's own event series at a storming homecoming rave inside a purpose-built, 4500-capacity hanger outside Gateshead's International Stadium. He also owns one of music's most dandy shirt collections...
Speaking about the launch, Topping said: "To be honest there's nothing like this round here for this type of music. There's no events of this size, there's no electronic festivals, just nothing like this. This is on a different level to anything, so I was kind of going into the unknown. Luckily it's come off."
Here we catch up with the tech house DJ-producer backstage in Gateshead just before his set. We also speak with Topping's pal and Skiddle favourite Eats Everything, as well as TRICK label young guns Elliot Adamson and Bryan Kessler.
