FOR NO REASON :: IMMIGRANT RECORDS PARTY
2008 was a very special year for the FNR faithful. Regularly featuring in DJ magazines Top 10 nights in the North, we saw the likes of Jamie Jones, James Priestley and Geddes grace the decks and rock the FNR dancefloor. For No Reason hosted its first arena at a top UK festival, whilst FNR artists secured high profile gigs both on home soil and on the international stage. Then before the close of the year the city experienced the most talked about and unique event in its history when For No Reason put together a large scale secret location rave. For one night all eyes were on Preston for a party that will go down in local clubbing legend.
Always looking forward, the FNR crew are excited for 2009 as we pledge our commitment to growing the citys budding underground, whilst pushing our sound to the nation and perhaps further. We start the year with an exceptional link up with an outfit which has been causing an enormous stir amongst electronic music lovers in recent years.
This year will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of a UK label that can boast having their finger firmly on the pulse of the international house and techno scene. A nomadic, upfront and ever-changing vehicle for expression, Immigrant Records was founded almost a decade ago in California by head honcho Robin Porter, an artist whose musical taste was shaped by the Hacienda in Manchesters Acid House days.
Immigrant's focus on young up-and-coming artists sees them pitted alongside some highly respected producers of the moment, and has enjoyed success signing house and techno productions from some of the industry's most exciting international producers. The standard of their releases is exemplified by the vast appreciation and support shown by artists such as Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones and Locodice, contributing to the reputation of quality that is so resolutely held by Immigrant Records.
Not satisfied with only releasing dancefloor grooving pearlers, for the past couple of years the imprint has also hosted its own monthly parties at the late and legendary T Bar in East London one of the new breed afterhours clubs that helped reignite the capitals underground status within the global music community. On Feb 7th Immigrant roll into Preston for the first For No Reason event of the new year when we will help them celebrate their birthday FNR style.
Get ready to Party!

GUEST PROFILES ::
SUBB-AN //
Subb-ans (aka Ash) interest in electronic music began in his teens. He gradually began to buy records and listen to a broad spectrum of music. When beginning to DJ, the sounds of detroit techno and house music had a particular effect on him.
Ashs inquisitive nature led to the development of a variety of live sets, landing him a residency at Birminghams respected Below. Known for its ever inspiring atmosphere, Belows line-ups have enabled Ash to grow as an artist, supporting the likes of Mobilee artists Anja Schneider, Sebo K and Ralf Kollmann, girl-wonder Dinky and the UKs own Jamie Jones and Clive Henry. Appearances at Londons The End, T-bar and Technique in Leeds, have ensured that Ashs talent has not been confined to the West Midlands. The 2008 release of Italia on Leftroom, having received accolades from M8, Mixmag, and IDJ, has gained support from some of the leading names in the industry, with his productions being played by Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Paul Woolford and Luciano to name but a few.
The latest signing to Immigrant records, 'The Corridors Of Life', released in May 2008 has support from Josh Wink, Loco Dice, Solomun, Jimpster and Soul Designer and will surely see 2009 become Ashs year , the fruits of his efforts to be rewarded with several planned releases and remixes.
Confirmed for billing on coveted line-ups alongside Jamie Anderson and Jamie Jones, Loco Dice and the Mobilee crew, as well as summer dates in Barcelona with Jay Haze and Michael Ho, and Below's 'Like Minded' Festival in Croatia, Ashs talent is certainly one to monitor. See what all the hype is about and can catch his debut performance in Preston at For No Reason.
