Filth celebrates 2nd Birthday with Jesse Rose!!
The time has come! With a well deserved month off for main man Danny Savage, Filth returns to the Mint Club in February with arguably the biggest line-up of its existence so far, not surprisingly as part of the Filth 2nd Birthday. After recently announcing new Filth residencies for 54 in London, Sankeys in Manchester and the continuation of the notorious Leeds party series, there is definitely no sign of the craziest party in the North slowing down for any more than a one month annual breather! With recent industry backing from leading music magazines, Mixmag, DJ Mag and IDJ, Filth is well on target for the accolade of 'most vibrant party in the UK,' according to recent shining reviews and full page articles. Featuring a Birthday line-up of monstrous proportion, Jesse Rose, Style of Eye and new Filth resident Lee Mortimer all confirmed as headline acts, all attention in the Filth office is now set to focus on making the first Filth party of 2009 the largest, most full-on Birthday party celebration to happen in Leeds, in a long, long time!
After months of negotiations, the pioneer of thumping jacking house, Jesse Rose, has confirmed his debut appearance at Filth, Leeds! Currently residing in uber-cool Berlin, Jesse has been making huge waves since touching down in Germany in 2007. Bringing his signature deep dancefloor jack to clubs across the world such as The Arches (Glasgow), Sugar Factory (Amsterdam) and Panorama Bar (Berlin), where he holds a monthly party, his labels Made To Play and Front Room Recordings have become international institutions in their own right, with fresh, high calibre underground music being released from the likes of Oliver $ and Jesse himself. With a firing new single confirmed for release on Switch's label, Dubsided, with Hot Chip on vocal duty, a new forthcoming artist album forthcoming, Jesse is in the process of taking over house music, full stop!
Joining Jesse is Linus Eklow, AKA the mighty Style of Eye, flying himself and his bag of techy beats, tight, bouncy basslines and glitchy sound effected tomfoolery over from native Sweden to take the crowd on a deep, trippy late night musical journey! With releases through quality musical outputs like Claude Von Stroke's Dirty Bird Records and John Dahlback's Pickadoll imprint, you can expect the finest fresh edged European clubbing sounds available. Bringing the ever-needed wonk to the party will be the newest of Ministry of Sound's resident DJs, Lee Mortimer. After his storming Filth appearance alongside Bart B More in October, Lee instantly became a must-have for this epic Birthday rave-up! As an out-putter of the highest grade fidget house, through his own Wearhouse Music label, expect to be kept on your dancing feet throwing some crazy shapes to the aural treats of some of most cutting edge underground dance music around.
Ensuring that the post-New Year blues is firmly removed from Leeds and beyond, residents Dale Castell, Eddi Zanetti, Little Bastard, Gav Bailey and Danny Savage will be on support duty throughout the course of this guaranteed rave-a-thon, heating up the Funktion One soundsystem to maximum impact levels. Amongst the Filth dancing girls, dressed up clubbers and smiley party people, hedonistic chaos is on the cards! Join us as Filth turns two this February.
